Normalize configuration files through a complete YAML parse-and-serialize cycle rather than adjusting whitespace with regular expressions. Nested mappings, sequences, quoted values, and scalar types are handled by the YAML library.

How to use

  3. Resolve any syntax error and copy the serialized YAML.

Common questions
Will comments be preserved?

This formatter serializes the parsed data value, so comments and some original presentation details are not retained.

Can it format multiple documents?

No. Provide a single YAML document at a time; split multi-document streams before formatting.
