About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Inspect the readable portions of a compact JSON Web Token during development. Header and payload are Base64URL-decoded as UTF-8 JSON, while the signature segment remains opaque and is never cryptographically checked.

How to use

  1. Paste the complete compact token with header, payload, and signature segments.
  2. Review the prominent warning, decoded header, and payload claims.
  3. Use your authorization server or a signature-verifying library before trusting any claim.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Does a successfully decoded JWT prove it is authentic?

No. Anyone can create or edit an unsigned-looking payload. Decoding provides no proof of issuer, integrity, expiration, or authenticity.

Are exp and other time claims validated?

No. Claims are displayed as JSON without enforcing exp, nbf, aud, iss, or application-specific rules.
