About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Turn image bytes into text for a stylesheet, markup experiment, or test fixture. The encoder reads the selected file directly and can return either raw Base64 or a ready-to-use data URL.

How to use

  1. Select an image to encode.
  2. Choose raw Base64 or a complete data URL.
  3. Copy the encoded text or download it as a .txt file.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Does Base64 compress an image?

No. Base64 represents the same bytes as text and generally increases payload size by about one third.

Should large production images be embedded?

Usually not. Large data URLs are difficult to cache independently and can make HTML or CSS unwieldy.
