About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

See text as the ones and zeros actually produced by UTF-8. Every encoded byte is padded to eight bits, and decoding requires complete bytes so partial input cannot silently shift the remaining data.

How to use

  1. Enter text to encode or binary digits to decode.
  2. Choose text-to-binary or binary-to-text.
  3. Copy the 8-bit groups or decoded Unicode text after byte and UTF-8 validation.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Is ASCII binary the same as UTF-8 binary here?

For ASCII characters, yes. For non-ASCII text, this tool shows the full multi-byte UTF-8 sequence rather than a single 8-bit character code.

Can binary be entered as one continuous string?

Yes. Common separators are optional, but the total number of binary digits must be divisible by eight.
