About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Produce the traditional 128-bit MD5 digest needed by older formats and integrations. MD5 is collision-prone and unsuitable for passwords, signatures, certificates, or adversarial integrity checks.

How to use

  1. Enter the UTF-8 text to hash.
  2. Run the local MD5 calculation.
  3. Copy the 32-character hexadecimal digest for a legacy use case.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Is MD5 secure for password storage?

No. Use a password-hashing function designed for that purpose, such as bcrypt, scrypt, or Argon2, with an appropriate unique salt.

Why does MD5 still appear in older systems?

Legacy protocols and non-adversarial checksums may still require it for compatibility, but new security designs should use a modern hash.
