About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Extract the first three bytes of a MAC address and compare them with a compact reference of familiar virtualization, development-board, and vendor prefixes. Unknown results are labeled honestly; no live registry query or complete IEEE database is implied.

How to use

  1. Enter full MAC addresses or six-hex-digit OUI prefixes.
  2. Separate multiple entries with spaces, commas, or new lines.
  3. Review listed vendors and the explicit limited-reference notice.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
Is this a complete IEEE OUI database?

No. It is a deliberately small built-in list of common prefixes. An unlisted OUI may still be valid and assigned.

Does a prefix prove who manufactured a device?

Not necessarily. Addresses can be reassigned, virtualized, spoofed, or locally administered. Treat vendor identification as a clue rather than proof.
