About this tool

Made for the task at hand.

Produce test addresses for virtual interfaces and documentation with Web Crypto randomness. Preserve up to five prefix bytes, choose formatting and quantity, and explicitly set or clear the locally administered bit while always clearing the multicast bit.

How to use

  1. Choose quantity and an optional zero-to-five-byte prefix.
  2. Select case, colon/plain format, and local or global scope.
  3. Generate addresses and verify uniqueness or allocation needs separately.
Your work stays yours.
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to KitVerse servers. Clear the workspace when using a shared device.
Common questions
What does the locally administered bit control?

It is the second-least-significant bit of the first byte. Setting it marks a locally administered address; clearing it gives a globally administered-format address without assigning a real vendor OUI.

Are generated addresses guaranteed unique or registered?

No. Random generation does not reserve addresses or query a registry. Check local collisions and use properly assigned prefixes when required.
